Ateneo de Naga University Sarong Pag Omaw
Given by the Ateneo de Naga University on September 11, 1988, posthumously, it reads:
“Maski na ngani an ginamit nyang tataramon gikan sa sarong estrangherong kultura, an boot asin puso kan saiyang mga sinurat bulanos na minaandorog sa kulturang Bikolnon na logod minapatotoo kan saiyang pagiging Bikolano”
Baao Bar, Board and Civil Service Club Certificate of Recognition
The Baao Bar, Board and Civil Service Club gave this posthumous certificate of recognition on May 11, 1985 in Baao, Camarines Sur.
“For his outstanding contribution to the literary world as international poet of the English language and as a public servant, having served as Municipal Mayor of the Municipality of Baao and to his dedication to his sworn duty, distinction and honor thus serving as example to the youth of the community.”
Millenium Mayoral Pusong Baaeno Posthumous Award
The Millenium Mayoral Pusong Baaeno Posthumous Award was given by the LGU of Baao on the 102nd Philippine Independence day in 2000.
“In recognition of his varied and remarkable achievements in literature, education, local history, archeology, genealogy, and journalism. His talent in poetry is recognized not only in Bicol but national and international as well, as one of the earliest, prominent and prolific Filipino Poet in English.”
Kiwanis Club of Baao Plaque of Appreciation
Kiwanis Club of Baao awarded this Plaque of Appreciation at a Luncheon in the St. Monica Academy on August 21, 1983.

Kabikolan Historical Committee awarded Luis G. Dato with the Certificate of Appreciation for his valuable contribution as a Speaker on a 3-day seminar at the Ateneo de Naga University in April 1970.

In honor of the memory of Jose Ma. Panganiban (JOMAPA), the Naga Press, Radio and TV Club, gave this Plaque of Distinction in March 28, 1979.
“master of the English and Bicol languages, for outstanding contributions to Bicol journalism as editor, columnist, literary contributor, and advocate of a distinctive system of Bicol orthography.”

The United Poets Laureate International awarded Luis G. Dato in Quezon City on October 15, 1965, read:
