MY LADY FAIR

By Luis G. Dato

My lady fair is dressed in white ,
She turns to day the darkest night.

My lady fair is dressed in black,
Of Sorrow’s grace she does not lack.

My lady fair is dressed in blue,
Hope’s poetry she holds for you.

My lady fair is dressed in gray,
I think ’tis time in church to pray.

My lady fair is dressed in red,
Will that mean now an innocence dead?

My lady fair is dressed in green,
Youth she exudes, a heart serene.

My lady fair is dressed in pink,
Those pearls look well on her, I think.

My lady fair is dressed in yellow,
Still in her teens, she looks quite mellow.

My lady fair, whate’er your dress,
Your sight comes like a warm caress.
