Translated from the Spanish by Mr. Luis G. Dato
Hail, Temple Great of Science dear,
Where youth forever seeks the lure
Of light beyond the years obscure
That saw it first on earth,
Thou fountain from the springs whereof
Is quenched thirst that the mind inflames
The nation blesses and acclaims
You and enfolds.
Warble, O birds; O bugles, blow
Wave of blue sea, arpeggios light,
And breath of autumn wind, to time
To all the world, say: “Temple bright,
Hold high your name since well you know
Your lineage noble and sublime,”
