CXXVI

by Luis G. Dato

And last but not the least the PR side,
Our public image if you call it so,
The Bulletin wrote up not so long ago
That we’re soft-spoken, this must be denied.
The Fuentebella brothers we’ve defied
And damned as traitor in the NP row,
They’ve had us booked for libel thrice, so how
Soft-spoken call one of our tongue, our hide?

The truth if truth must be is that we hate
Abuse in public office and the reign
Of the mediocre who would hog our show,
Too much the nepotist has been of late
In government, our protest all in vain —
Soft-spoken ? shucks! ’tis time the world should know.
